The therapist uses a variety of techniques to alleviate tension in muscles and improve circulation. The routine is designed to work directly on the twelve major meridians and two extraordinary vessels, balancing the flow of Ki energy around the body. It involves stretches, joint mobilisation, percussion, petrissage, compression and acupressure On this course, students will learn how to perform a seated acupressure massage. They will learn about the history of the massage from its Indo-Asian origins, and the benefits of this massage within a workplace environment. They will be able to assess client suitability, adapting the treatment as necessary, and identify postural conditions as well as Meridians and acupressure points. Students will also be able to carry out a client consultation, and learn the benefits, cautions, contraindications and aftercare for this therapy. This is a one-day professional, accredited and insurable practitioner's diploma course.
